Astronomically speaking - Praque is the heart of East Europe
Close-up of the Astronomical Clock in Old Town Square
As soon as I landed in Prague, I could feel it's pulse -and my heart was thumpring rapidly as well! I was feeling excitement over finally arriving in Europe and a little anxious about being on my own. This was a big first for me! But - I had excellent directions that were provided by the Rick Steves' tour that made it so easy to get from the airport to the hotel. I arrived in the morning so I had time to get my bearings, walk around old town, take a power-nap, and then meet Peter, the guide, and all my new travel companions for group introductions and a welcome dinner.
"I see a light, a little grace, a little faith unfurl. Well, hello world."
A Mountain Retreat
After 3 days in Prague, we met our bus driver, Antone, and headed up a mountain! We were entertained by a Czech Folk Troupe with traditional dances and music and also had our 2nd group dinner together here. I have to say - all of the group meals were outstanding! Peter took us to historic, family restaurants where we would be treated to wonderful, local cuisine. And when we were on our own - Peter and the local guides would point out different options for dining which often included local hangouts. It was nice to have those "local" experiences to help feel more connected to the places we visited and less like a tourist!
